Tanner and Parker both received awards at school today for their Reading Counts Achievements. Pecan Creek has a cool program called "Reading Counts" where you take a short 10 question test after reading a book to check your comprehension. 
If you pass the test, you get a certain amount of points based on the difficulty and size of book. This is something that goes on all year long for grades 2nd-5th. Three times during the year, they have a store where you can spend your points to purchase different items.
We just found out today that they also give awards to the students who have accumulated the most points for their grade level. Parker received a trophy for 1st place for all of 3rd grade! Quite an accomplishment since he came into that grade late in the fall. 
Tanner received a medal for 4th place for all of 4th grade. He was only a few points away from the 3rd place winner! I'm sure Maddie will be right up there next year when she has a chance to participate. I am so glad the kids love to read!
